My husband has been in the Marines for 18 years, we've been married for 13 years. All of which we have had Navy Fed and direct deposit. I cannot recall ever being paid on a Sunday night, or even a Saturday night. Since the 15th is a Monday, payday we're thinking will be Friday night...possibly Thursday night. Early in our marriage I actually called Navy Fed to get the exact info for when it would post so that we knew how much longer our money had to stretch. And they will always know if you need to find out. Just call your local Navy Fed and ask "what night will the military direct deposit hit" and they will know.

** I decided to just call them for you since everyone else was saying Sunday I had to know if I was right. They said yes, it will be the night of Friday the 12th, like we thought. If you want to call and confirm, you can call the Carlsbad, CA branch at 1-888-842-6328. Press 0 once, then 6. Someone friendly will come on and tell you that your direct deposit will post this Friday night, which is midnight on Saturday morning actually. For future reference it will never post on a Sat or Sun night...that's just how Navy Fed and military direct deposit works- other's might be using different banks or aren't military.

Monday, September 15th is not a holiday, so the payment will post on Sunday (yes, Navy Fed has electronic posting) or sooner, but will not be made available to your account until Monday.

In other words, don't try and float a check before Monday. If it bounces, not only will you be responsible for all fees at the place you wrote the check and the bank, you could also get in trouble with your command.

The policy is to ensure that people are paid on or before the stipulated pay day, so if monday is a public holiday then it should be in on the friday..... unless of course the world ends tomorrow, in which case who cares.

Midnight Sunday as a previous poster stated is correct. The only time you do not receive pay on the 1st or 15th is when pay schedules fall on a holiday or on a Sunday. In some cases You'll see it Pending in your account probably on Thursday or Friday but it won't clear till Sunday night.

Ours usually posts a day early, too so I think ours usually posts on Friday when pay day falls on Monday.
