It's cold. You get used to it. If you don't get outdoors or get out of your house, the winters will get to you, but UAF has a lot of cool things to do and Fairbanks is a nice little town.With a fair amount of hippies, typical Alaska. They do have Movie Theaters and a lot of restaurants, they also have a lot of 'college hangout' coffee shop things. Not sure about night life, sorrryyyyy.
