I no longer want to keep my money and contribute to the robbery of people with banks like US Bank and Bank of America, i want to switch to a small, one branch, local community bank. I live in the Saint Charles MO area.

Try a local Credit Union. Honestly BOA and US Bank are not the culprits msot opretend they are since they themselves are the problem with how they handle their accounts, PERIOD!

If you are interested, First State Bank of St. Charles is an independent bank with 4 locations in St. Charles County - two in St. Charles City. We've been around for over 144 years, and have never been bought out or sold. We are very active in the community, and would love to chat with you about what we offer - including over 22,000 NO-FEE ATMs and a receptionist (a real person right here in St. Charles!) who answers all of the bank's phone calls and inquiries. We're also a Member FDIC bank, which means your deposits are 100% FDIC-insured.

credit unions are nonprofit financial establishments that offer all the same services that you regular bank does and has the same government guarantees that you need,as in F.D.I.C.first community is a well established credit union that was originally started as Monsanto's employee credit union when credit unions were first getting started.as time went by they merged with many other smaller and not so small credit unions to become one of St.Louis's largest and most well known in the area.they are very good, but all credit unions must meet the same standards under the law.this is the best way to go as they are solid, yet not a part of the banking system that you seek to separate you and your money from.i applaud you for your intention,as i feel the same way and am also distancing myself and my money from the big conglomerates.together we can make an impact that will hit them where it hurts.

Thats great, you should have no problem finding a local bank like that. I would talk to friends and neighbors to see who they all recommend. Find out if you can qualify for a credit union. Good luck
