Holiday Inn...

This one is literally at the Stadium. Not sure where the other guy is talking about though with the Econo Lodge and all, as the Holiday Inn is the only one I can remember seeing down that way.

This is the closest stadium, and therefore, I would think, the first to get booked up. The good news is that it is extremely easy to get to the stadiums from Center City, where there are nicer hotels anyway. Here's a link to a search for hotels in Philly.

You would take SEPTA's Broad Street Line (Orange) Subway south from Center City till the very end of the line, which is the stadium complex. There is a stop right at City Hall in Center City as well (center of the map below)

The subway will be crowded with other Philly fans as well, generally making it a safer journey.

The Holiday Inn at the stadium is less than stellar.

Also, be advised that if you are coming in for World Series weekend, my TA is currently booking people 1 hour outside the city. There is a convention in town at the same time, and what rooms to be had are going for high prices.

For stadium stays, I recommend the Doubletree on Broad street. Quick walk to the Subway, right to the game.

There are some places almost within walking distance, but they're not places that are highly recommended (Econo Lodge, Holiday Inn, etc.).

There's a Doubletree about 3 miles away, rates start at $142/night

Hope that helps!
